Rules of the Big House

She is aging gracefully and needs TLC! Fire and old electrical wiring/plumbing are her enemies!

GENERAL

  • No smoking/vaping inside the house. Dispose of butts.

  • No recreational drugs on the property.

  • Close cabinets and drawers tightly to discourage mice.

  • At night, put all food away. Close the kitchen door into the back hall.

  • No food, drink, or glass upstairs.

  • Replace hand soap (in all bathrooms), dish detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and laundry detergent. Replace propane for grill if low.

  • If you have electrical devices charging, unplug them before leaving an empty house. 

  • Lock house and garage doors if everyone leaves.

FIRES​

  • Make sure fireplace flues are open before lighting a fire.

  • Use longer pieces of wood for the fireplaces and shorter pieces for the kitchen stove

  • When leaving the room, put up the fire screen and brace it with the fire fork.

  • Use a metal bucket to empty ashes into the fire pit outside.

  • Never burn colored paper in the house.

GARBAGE / WASTE​

  • Think green! Recycle glass, plastic, metals, paper, and clean cardboard using buckets in the garage.

  • Save water by jiggling handles and turning off dripping faucets.

  • Turn off lights not being used. (Lightbulbs located in the tall white cabinet in the workshop)

  • No feminine products or flushable wipes down the toilet. 

  • Do not use any pesticides on the property.

  • Clean up after your pets - inside and out!

  • All garbage/trash needs to be taken to the dump in large purple bags.
